Penstocks
It is a type of valve commonly used in plants to control the flow of water and determine the direction of flow. Penstock are gates that operate on a vertical axis that can be operated manually or by means of an actuator.
Penstock is controlled by a mechanically operated stem. The shaft can be operated automatically using an actuator. This can be activated when certain setting levels are reached. Therefore, eliminating the need for any human interaction. Penstocks can also be sealed on all 4 sides, something that stoplogs cannot do.
We only use high quality stainless steel, grade AISI 304 or AISI 316 / AISI 316L as material for the closures we manufacture. Depending on the penstock size, we choose the optimal sealing solution to meet the sealing requirements. As sealing material we use high grade NBR nitrile rubber, which is resistant to abrasion in highly corrosive wastewater. Furthermore, the structural shape of the seal guarantees maximum service life. Penstock can be surface mounted with bolts or mounted in a channel with grouting.
